PUBLIC SCHOOL 100
by Max
When I was a kid, we had autograph books which we signed at the end of the school year. We tried to write something memorable, so I compiled a list of the best sayings I could find. Some of my favorites:
1. To a sweet girl graduate — Love many, Trust few, Always paddle your own canoe.
2. Roses are red, Violets are blue, Sugar is sweet and so are you.
3. On this leaf in memory pressed, Let my name forever rest.
4. May your life be like a piano: Grand, upright and square.
5. Good, better, best. Never let it rest, until the Good is Better and the Better is Best.
6. In the river stands a rock and on it says, “Forget-me-not.”
7. Poor little Max, sitting on a fence, trying to make a dollar out of 99 cents.
8. There are silver ships. There are gold ships. But the best ship is “Friendship.”
9. When you are old and cannot wiggle, Remember the times when we used to giggle.
10. America is my nation; Brighton Beach is my station; but P.S. 100 is where I got my education.
