PRacTIcallY a WhoRehoUse
My brother Art had a few gas stations, one in Los Angeles on Third Street and another in Culver City. At one of the stations, Art had a trailer for sale for a long time. It was put to good use. Art liked anything that moved, so he had lots of girlfriends. Actually, his gas station was practically a whorehouse. One day, he threw me in the trailer, and that’s when I became a man.
As I did in New York, I also worked at Art’s station in Los Angeles. After World War II, Art accepted black market coupons. His station was located near some of the movie studios, including MGM. All of the top guys from the studios came for gas. They never cared how much they spent, so Art made a fortune. But, he was a gambler and it was hard to believe how much money he pissed away.
