A RENO WEDDING
Because Janet’s parents were divorced and it was wartime, a formal wedding was impossible. So the young couple eloped in Reno, Nevada, June 3, 1942. Back then, Reno was THE place for getting a quickie divorce, but Janet and Sonny were happy as could be about getting married there. Afterward, they spent ten days on a dreamy honeymoon at Lake Tahoe, California. Janet drew a cartoon book of their honeymoon.
