Before we went to sleep, Grandma Fannie would sit on the side of the bed, and after unpinning her long hair, which she wore in a big bun on top of her head, she would let me brush her hair, which always smelled nice. Then she would put her false teeth into a glass of water, which I just hated. Finally, as she did every night of her life, she mumbled her prayers in Yiddish. She never taught them to me, though.
